House hunting checklist

Melbourne is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with lots of different options for students.

This guide will help you understand the different accommodation options and show you the steps involved in securing a place to live in Melbourne. It is organised as a timeline of when the ideal time is to complete the different steps.

If you have questions about accommodation options specifically for students, please submit your enquiry and we will do our best to help!

Please note that we are unable to provide individualised advice regarding private rentals.

If you decide to live on-campus in University Accommodation, you won’t have to worry about most of this checklist such as securing rental histories and references, finding housemates, buying furniture or connecting utilities and internet.
